2008 4thfest Volunteer Job Descriptions

Central Pennsylvania July 4, Inc. is a non-profit organization comprised of a team of volunteers and sponsors dedicated to celebrating America’s independence with a day of family fun and the best all-volunteer fireworks display in the nation. Volunteers are dedicated to work year-round and organize what has traditionally been a patriotic, family oriented event designed to serve local businesses and residents of Central Pennsylvania. The all volunteer organization counts on thousands of hours of volunteerism to plan, organize and execute the event. We are always looking for additional help!

4K Race (20 needed from 7:30am until 10:30am)

Volunteer Parking Attendant (3 groups)
Trash/Sanitation Engineers (10 needed from 4:00pm to 9:00pm)

July 5 Clean-Up Volunteers (50 needed from 8:00am until noon)

The day after the 4th is a day of returning the Penn Sate campus to the pristine condition that we found it before our event started. A huge crowd usually leaves behind some residue when they leave. We all pitch in to work on the cleanup detail. Some of the team members have been volunteering for two weeks to get the show ready to go. New people on cleanup day are most welcome. Come prepared to dig in and join the trashiest folks in the valley for 4 or 5 hours. Cleanup begins at 8:00 at the fireworks office trailer.
