There's more going on this year than ever before! Besides the race and the three venues of entertainment, we've got an afternoon full of activities for young and old! Come out and spend your entire afternoon and evening with us!!!! Also, the Street Dance returns this year - why fight the traffic when you can stick around and party with us?!

The Town Square and Founders Mall are located in the BJC Founder's Lot. The Pyrotechnics Tent is located nearby, and the Information Booth and vendors are located nearby in lot 44. The vendors for this year are listed below.

4:00 - 6:00 PM BJC room E Public Issues Forum - Democracy's Challenge: Fed up with politics and a widening partisan divide, many Americans are turning away from public life. We are, most of us, spectators rather than participants in a political process that seems to have little to do with citizens. What has gone wrong, and what should we do about it?
  • Approach 1: "Democratic Values" - Rebuilding democracy's moral foundation
  • Approach 2: "Web of Connections" - Reinventing citizenship
  • Approach 3: "By the People" - Bringing the public back into politics
Come participate, or feel free to observe for any part. What better way to observe Independence Day than to be a part of Democracy!

Pyro Demo Tent Pyrotechnics Demonstration - 4th Fest Volunteers will provide a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making this great show happen. You'll be amazed! This year's demonstration will also describe what goes into the choreography for the fireworks, and will give you a preview of the evening's show.

The 148th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Company C is a Civil War era living history group and they will be doing military and civilian home life demonstrations throughout the day. Learn all about the Centre County Regiment and the civilians that supported them.
4:00 - 8:00 PM Lot 44 4thFest Fantastic Frankfurters - There will be free hot dogs and chips. Donations are greatly appreciated.

4:00 - 8:30 PM BJC Founder's Lot Watch for historical characters wandering around. They'll even visit the main stage area between performances! Some of the characters include: Paul Revere (played by Adam Schwartz), Benjamin Franklin (played by Charlie Wilson), and Molly Pitcher (played by Kristyna Smulligan).
4:00 PM BJC Founder's Mall The Outstanding Young Women assist with Kids Crafts, as well as face painting.
4:00 - 7:30 PM BJC Founder's Lot Nittany Line Hobbies & Toys brings back the Remote Control Car Races. This year there are a lot more cars, and more time to participate! This activity is recommended for ages 10 through 18. Sign up at the information booth for your chance to race.
4:00 - 8:00 PM Lot 44 The National Guard has several activities for young and old alike. Come see their video trailer to learn about their activities,and let your teens enjoy the Climbing Wall and the Sumo Suit wrestling!
6:00 - 8:00 PM Medlar Field Penn State "Field of Champions" - an opportunity for children up to 8th grade to participate in fun games like Whiffle Ball, Kick Ball, Soccer Goals, Pitching in Bullpen, Basketball etc with Penn State athletes. Enjoy photo and autograph opportunities as well as see the National Championship trophies.

Sky's the Limit Ballooning provides tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides, wind and weather permitting. Sign up at the balloon. ($)
6:00 PM Lot 44 GIANT Foods provides a 14 foot long flag cake that is served by the employees of RESTEK. The line forms in Lot 44 amongst the celebration activities around 5:30 pm. At 5:55 we will sing Happy Birthday to our nation and the cake will be cut and served.
9:20 PM   The Fireworks! Rated in the top three fireworks shows in America!
